Anniversary Quilt

Grandma and Granddaddy’s

50th Wedding Anniversary Quilt

I can’t believe it’s been twenty years since I stitched this gift for my hubby’s grandparents. I did it with my 1972 Kenmore, which still holds residence in my studio, even if it’s in need of a touch of oil. It’s a perennial reminder to me that sewing is very much an art and that it’s still very much the artist - and how they wield the tools at their disposal - that make the art.

Whatever tools you have at your disposal, learn to use them creatively. Don’t be afraid to try and don’t be afraid to fail. After all, it’s a journey and, like all journeys, wonderful things can and do happen

Happy Sewing,

Laura
